+ Age.
Also, a recent event in my life, quoted from an e-mail to people you do not know.
---
You see, up until a few days ago the Nazis had done absolutely nothing to me, as a person, personally. However I'm a writer and I'm looking at writing a victorian era fiction pastiche - Holmes and Hyde and HG. Wells, that sort of thing. The difference being I want it to be very, very historical, so I start investigating historical events and I discover the Third Pandemic, in 1894, and some interesting stuff about a couple of Royal Navy ships in the era. I then look things up at the National Archives and get this:
' Ships' ledgers for the period 1878 to 1909 inclusive were, with a very few exceptions, destroyed by fire as a result of enemy action in 1941. ' THE NAZIS. BLEW. UP. MY BOOKS.

I had a terrifying moment this morning.
I wrote a short story. Just under two thousand words flowed in from nowhere, I was writing something completely off the cuff, no planning, and it came out beautiful. I think this is one I might be able to sell.
Writing it was a strange, exploratory process.
I have no idea if it'll ever happen again.
I'm terrified it won't.

I went on holiday.
I got really homesick, but I did get some photographs. (Not much by way of commentary, alas.)
There are castle pics and a teddy bear that belongs to my sister.
( Observe photographs. )

It is the holidays.
I will be gone for about a week.
Please enjoy your holidays!
That is all.

I have to go, by myself, to get fillings in awhile. Going alone to the dentist, such a life changing event...
Also it is my mother's birthday. I am very, very bad at wrapping presents. _Very_ bad. But on the bright side it means that they can be joyously ripped open with no concern for the wrapping paper.
Want more time to write, too, but studies are eating my brain-meats alive right now.

Well at least I'm already bald - no need to worry about that sneaking up on me. >.>

So. Been doing some reading of the militant sort.
I found this gem in FM7-8, apparently of the US Army.
SITUATION: If the squad/platoon enters a kill zone and the enemy initiates an ambush with a casualty-producing device and a high volume of fire, the unit takes the following actions. My new favourite phrase ever is 'Casualty-Producing Device'.

My instincts are apparently screwed up right now. And I mean badly.
Instinctively I am looking at the studies I'm doing, and I'm thinking... 'this is never going to result in a career for me. My most realistic option to become a success is to write books.'
...
*Facepalms.*
I think a lot of this has to do with wishful thinking. But I'm going to try and keep writing anyway, while studying.

... This...
is an epic screen.
(I've been using CRTs all my life. A 19 inch TFT is really, really impressive. Okay?)

Well. My laptop's apparently in the process of being repaired, so, with a little luck, should have that back within a few days.
Still working on sorting out my desktop.
Finished my math assignment in time, and I am sure I'll have another one along shortly.
I miss being online constantly, but the library around the corner does help a bit, innit?

Delays to my new PC, and now my dad is leaving, and my laptop's gone, so, I may be computerless for awhile, since dad will be taking his machine with him. ;_;
But hopefully not a long while. Maybe I'll even be re-computered tomorrow? Probably not, but I can hope.
I CAN HOPE OKAY!? :(

My laptop died. Thankfully my dad has left his laptop here, whilst he goes off to cavort in China, and I should be getting my new desktop sometime soon, so I am not entirely computerless or without hope. Fingers crossed.
I was also busy trying to write something... sigh. Sigh.

Presuming I live to 96, I'm a quarter through my life.
I have not done a quarter of the things I want to do with my life. :(
But it's my brithday, and there are presents to soften the blow...
My mother's given me a book called 'The Guerilla Art Kit', and I think she wants me to get an Asbo.

Buy this please.
It is totally the first time anything of mine has seen print, not to mention totally the first time I ever earned any money. Granted it's just a short story in an anthology... but I am still 100% enthused.
